Caroline Harris / 2026
This special edition, presented in a kraft ‘book style’ box was made for the occasion of The Tarot Fayre, Brighton on 18 July 2026.
The deck of 22 poetic tarot cards, with a poem for each of the major arcana cards on one side and a magnified colour halftone image on the other, is the same as for the standard deck, with the exception of the title card, which marks this as a special edition. The poems explore the interrelationships between two characters, Doe and The Passenger, and the cards are inkjet printed on to Daler Rowney Smooth-Heavyweight 220gsm card. Each deck is wrapped in silver and gold fleck recycled paper and secured with rose pink linen bookbinding thread.
The box is lined with a print showing the same halftone pattern as the card backs. The deck is nestled on repurposed kraft paper shreds and comes with an individually signed concertina pamphlet (printed on Zerkall 100gsm Smooth) whose text tells the story of the deck and its material making. A ‘book plate’ that can be personalised (on Satogami Mint paper) and paper butterfly cutouts complete the work.
The Taro as Deer full 78-card deck, including Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles, will be offered as a Kickstarter – follow Caroline’s pre-launch page for updates.
