cuteswarm is the title of a series of tiny scroll poems secured with coloured embroidery thread, each about an encounter between the author and an insect or other small invertebrate. Each of cuteswarm volume 1 consists of a random selection of three poems from the initial 21 in the series, contained in a glass-lidded aluminium entomology collecting tin and packed with a hand-numbered tag on a pre-loved ribbon. The poem texts were written from a journal of everyday interactions that Caroline kept over the course of six months, from 4 September 2024, as part of the ongoing project ‘insect Interventions – and other selected invertebrates’. The poems in volume 1 relate to the period from September to November 2024.
